Born on Watergate Bay back in 2018. The boys have since made their dream become a reality.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
The friendship began between Matt and Billy whilst sharing lifts to rugby training during college. After college the boys remained friends but went their separate ways. Matt went on to study sports science at Exeter University and Billy was signed to Exeter Chiefs as a professional rugby player.
Participation in a barista course and a love for coffee sparked the initial idea to set up a small coffee business. Something that Matt dreamt of doing since he was a child; following in the footsteps of his grandparents who had previously had a café. Since then, the business has grown from a coffee machine in the back of a VW caddy van to multiple cafes/takeaway outlets across Cornwall.
The clothing aspect of the business was established due to Matt's passion for clothing and design. Starting out as a few simple designs for uniforms, Cubs have since grown to now have a thriving online store, physical clothing stores and stock in other retailers. Housing a range of different designs, the business has developed into a specialty coffee and clothing business.
The business is continually growing and chasing the horizon.

MATT BUTLER (DIRECTOR)
Anything related to Clothing, Coffee and Cubs he's your guy. Passion is in his DNA and he injects that into the Cubs business. Whether it is designing clothing or dialing in coffee he has the skill set for it all. Find him at the centre of the business drinking a flat white.
BILLY KEAST (DIRECTOR)
Professional Rugby player at Exeter Chiefs. Building the brand alongside Matt, Billy is working on bringing the brand out of Cornwall! Recognised by the RPA for his hard work an success in 2022 Billy was awarded the Vodafone Business Gain Line Award. When he isn't training hard for Exeter his is the king of espresso.
LIBBY EASTHAM
Finance & Hospitality Manager
Joined the Cubs crew early 2021 and uses her vast hospitality and accounting experience to excel at her role of hospitality and finance manager. Makes top tier coffee, catch her serving liquid gold across the sites or sipping her daily 11am oat flat white.
